This is what 19 miles and almost 3 hours of running on muddy, wet trails in cold, miserable rain looks like. I was NOT very happy yesterday while running. I wanted to stop after about two miles when my shirt was so wet it was clinging to my stomach and chest and making everything even colder than it already was. Obviously I didn’t. I wonder why the right leg got it so much worse than the left.

It’s been a while since I was THIS much of a mess after a run. It looked much messier in person (as opposed to the crappy computer camera quality). Fun times.

Til next time, RUN HAPPY everyone!

Are those the Pure Grit? I’m in need of a trail shoe for my upcoming 50Ks, but I can’t seem to make a decision between the Pure Grits and Cascadias. I was first thinking Pure Grit b/c I love my other Pures so much. Then I read that one of the ultras will be more “technical.” Thoughts?

Those are actually my old Ghost 3s. I’ve done all of the trail races I’ve run since November in the Pure Grits, both the 50 miler and the 100k. They weren’t the MOST technical trails but there were some tricky sections and I loved them. I’d race pretty much anything in them. Maybe not Massanutten, but anything else.
